Hello, I'm Rob

I'm an indie artist with a deep love for creativity in all its forms. And I'm the person behind Ichibot.

Ichibot began as a wish for my own art to reach more people. At the moment, it serves as a platform to share my own artistic journey and connect with art enthusiasts like you. Through my art, I hope to inspire and resonate with people from all walks of life.

But my vision for this space extends beyond just showcasing my work. I'm driven by a bigger dream: to transform this platform into a thriving collective of indie artists from diverse backgrounds. My goal is to create a supportive community where independent creatives can come together, share their talents, and gain exposure.

So, while my art takes center stage for now, my ultimate objective is to amplify the voices and talents of fellow indie artists. Join me in this evolving journey as we work towards building a vibrant and inclusive hub for the indie art community. Together, we can make art more accessible and celebrate the incredible creativity that indie artists bring to the world.

But why "Ichibot"?

There's really no one clear answer. Ichibot.com is a domain I've had for a long time. I'm not entirely sure why I originally registered it, but it had probably something to do with a chat platform or something like that. The name combined two things:

  • "Ichi": the Japanese word for "one".
  • "Bot": the shorthand for robot.

All things Japan were in vogue at the time and a seven character semi-cool domain seemed like a nice catch. Of course nothing ever came of the original intended use, but the domain remained with me.

And the name sort of grew on me over the years until it eventually became the "brand" under which I publish my art. It's still a pretty catchy name, don't you think?
